I downloaded HBO GO but when I try to open it it says “ERROR 5005”

Which device and software version are you using to try and contact the developer? Are you using the link providing in the App Store? Have you attempted this from another device?

Have you tried contacting the developer from a different device or network? If you're still unable to contact the developer we'd recommend contacting Apple Support directly. You can do that here:

What country are you in?

That's probably why it's not working. HBO Go is only accessible when you're in the US.

Did you download it from the Singapore app store?

Are you using a VPN to access another countries service?

Is your friend also using on iPhone X or previous version of iPhone, Which version of iPhone you have used HBO go Earlier.
