How to disable purgeable space?

I have 470GB free on my iMac, but out of that 469GB is shown as purgeable space. So when I try to download a file bigger than 1Gb, it shows "no space available"

How do I disable this purgeable space? I have tried many ways, uncheck optimize mac, disable icloud, time machine preferences etc..

Please help.

The culprit could be local Time Machine snapshots. To see if you have them open Terminal and enter the command

tmutil listlocalsnapshots /

followed by the Return or Enter key.

To remove them see the section titled "How do I delete local snapshots to free up space on my Mac's internal storage?" on this website: How to use Time Machine local snapshots to recover data on your Mac in 2019.

Sir,

This is a new mac. I bought it last week. I have not downloaded anything thru iTunes. Mail is not configured on this mac. The 1TB fusion drive has 2 partitions. Macintosh HD - 250 GB and Personal 750GB. Out of this 750GB, now 470GB is shown as purgeable. I have 279.5 GB files in this "Personal" partition. So 470+279.5 = 749.5 GB is shown as "used" in disk utility, which leaves me only 500MB. Yesterday when I tried to download a file which was 600MB, it said that download is not possible, since there is no disk space available. Around 15GB is shown as purgeable on Macintosh HD partition as well. But when I check thru "About this Mac" i see that almost 470GB is free on Personal Partition. I tried to copy some huge files on Personal Partition and it works, but still shows 470GB as purgeable. The main problem is that now I cannot download any files bigger than 500MB. I hope you are clear with my issue.
