Printing Adobe PDF Documents

For the past 3 days I have been unable to print Adobe PDF documents. My printer (HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus) says: Can't open "/private/var/spool/cups/tmp/10e395ccbf2d7". The last part (10e395...) changes with each attempt.

Prior to upgrading to Mojave, or shortly thereafter, you should have verified that HP continues to provide compatible printer drivers for this operating system. If you have not done so, you should update your version of HP Easy Start to 2.9.0.180 (Sept 2018) which is listed for your printer model under Mojave. Easy Start may find a newer driver release, and improve your printing functionality. If Easy Start updates your printer driver, then you must also perform a Reset the Print System to actually use that new print driver.

The only Adobe Acrobat Reader DC that is compatible with Mojave 10.14.n is v2019.* and that is available from Adobe's site. If you are using a pre-Mojave release of the Adobe Reader product, that may also be contributing to your print problems from it.

HP will not show any driver for your device. Instead, they show the HP Easy Start v2.9.0.180 application which will attempt to locate any current driver update for your printer once it is installed. Also, on that HP site, one must select macOS, then the version (10.14), and finally click the Change button to pull up anything for Mojave.

Do you have HP Easy Start v2.9.0.180 installed, have run it, and it reported no driver updates for your printer? If true, then there may be no resolution to your printing issues.

Are you running the released Mojave 10.14.4?
