If I ordered an iPhone with AT&T, will it take longer for it to ship?

Okay, so last wednesday (July 7th), I ordered a 16 GB Black iPhone 4 from the AT&T store near my house (I live in Houston, TX)-the lady at the store said it would take 7-10 days to get it, but the Apple website said shipping takes 3 weeks...what am I supposed to believe?! lol

I checked my order status on AT&T.com and it is still on backorder

Can anyone give me any info? thanks!

Also-I bought a black bumper for my iPhone on eBay-apparently the phone may not work without the bumper-can someone explain why?

Don't know about the back order thing, I'll just share with you about my order with AT&T

July 1st - Ordered my IPhone 4 around 11pm

July 3rd - Status Update: Processing (I've been checking everyday day)

July 11th - Status Update: Shipped (AT&T Premier emailed me that the phone has been staged for pick-up and may take up to 72 hours before the shipping carrier can provide detailed delivery information)

July 12th - Checked Fedex website and the phone's estimated arrival is tomorrow, July 13th around 3pm

A friend of mine ordered the same day July 1st, and AT&T Premier emailed her on the 8th and got the phone on the 10th..

Hope this helps.. I'm excited to receive mine tomorrow.

id say its gonna be a good two weeks if you haven't received your phone the first week. remember. att says 7-14 days and apple says 3 weeks. 7-14 are business days so that almost 3 weeks.

Same here-The woman at the AT&T store asked me for my email address, but aside from that order status page that says it's on backorder and the receipt from the store, I don't know anything going on with my order-it's pretty irritating

remember, they go by business days. I highly doubt youre gonna get you phone in 7-10 days. I think its more like 7-14 business days which is somewhere around 3 weeks....and thats a BIG maybe. i ordered mine 2 days before you and i still have no kind of confirmation.

AT&T and Apple have separate shipping set-ups.

I ordered a 32GB 6/29 from ATT -- 7-10 business days projection; actual was 11 calendar days.

I also had an order pending with Apple, made 6/27 with 7/20 projected ship date, 7/23 projected delivery.

I later wanted to purchase a 16GB -- I placed order with AT&T 7/9; same 7-10 business day projection beat Apple's projection (obtained on the same day) of shipping at the end of July (29th? can't remember for sure).

No scientific proof other than my own experience with my local AT&T store, but I ordered from them on 7/10 a 32GB iP4, it shipped on 7/14, and I had it working in my hands a day later at 7/15 by 2:30PM local time. AT&T store told me the typical 7-10 days, but they have been receiving their orders within a week. My 4 days fit that scenario.
