Low light photos on iPhone XS
Hello,
When I make pictures with low ambient light with my iphone XS, they are most of the times very “noisy” and “grainy”. Is that somehow normal?

Coming from a Pixel and now on a XS Max, I'm very disappointed. I'm seeing the same things, and I'm not thrilled. I'm no stranger to phone photography. I know about ISO and aperture and lighting. This is just bad processing.
Using a third party camera app helps a little bit, but that shouldn't be necessary on a $1000+ flagship smartphone.
Hey,
It is normal for your photos you took on the iPhone XS to be a bit grainy in low light conditions, especially when using the zoom functions.
Can you provide us with an example?
You can see above two of the last ones, portrait above and normal photo below
iPhone takes Portrait shots with a Telephoto lens which aperture ƒ/2.4, a Wide-angle lens is 1.8 aperture.
The bigger the number the worse lens behaves in low-light situations, this is why a Portrait shot is grainy.
