Services keyboard shortcuts not working

Hi,

I have a lot of services that I added to my mac using the built-in automator app and I added keyboard shortcuts to them from the keyboard settings.

The problem is that if I want to use the keyboard shortcuts I need to first to go to the app that I'm using in the moment, then go to services and after I'm done with that I can use my shortcuts. This process needs to happen for every app that I want to use after I launch it.

Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

I solved this problem by adding the command button to every service, Apparently when you use command the shortcut works

Let me see if I understand::you have built a service, say “myservice”, and have added a keyboard shortcut; you launch an application A, and want to use the service. The shortcut doesn’t work; but if you go to the Services menu, it works; and subsequently, the shortcut will work. If you want to use a service with another application B, same thing, you have to use the menu first, before you can use the shortcut.

This is weird.

Can you test:

a) in Safe Mode

b) booted normally and logged in to a new user account

and tell us if the same problem occurs in each case?

Hi,

Thanks for answering.

I checked it on safe mode and with another user, in both of which I get the same result, I can't use the services shortcuts unless I access them from the services menu of the app I'm using first.

Thanks for coming back with the solution.

I would not thought of this, because all the shortcuts I have ever created already include the command key to begin with...
