There's also built-in 'Keyboard Viewer' you may have access to via menu bar icon.

The Keyboard Viewer allows you to use a virtual keyboard instead of the physical

one attached to your Mac to input characters in another language as if you were

using a native keyboard layout. When the Keyboard Viewer is shown, you can click

on any of the virtual keys to insert that particular character in the same way as if

you had typed it with a physical key. *

Your macOS system Help can be used to direct you via Finder to search for features.

And if the macOS Keyboard Viewer is not available (no icon in top right menu bar) that is

an easy fix from System Preference> Keyboard & depending on macOS version, a check

box once toggled, allows the button icon to appear in menu bar in macOS or Mac OS X.

Hello DelilahMercuryMalek,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I see from your post that you're wondering how to type the at "@" symbol on your MacBook Air.

You should be able to type the @ symbol by pressing Shift ⇧ key and the number 2 key together.

If this doesn't work, share a picture of what you keyboard looks like so that your layout can be seen.

Kindest Regards.
