Automated Calls from Apple saying that my apple ID has been breached

I’ve been receiving automated calls today saying my account has been breached. I've never gotten this before. Is this more common than uncommon?

There have been multiple posts by people receiving scam calls like that. Apple won't call you unless you called them and requested a call back.

If you get a suspicious phone call or voicemail

Scammers spoof phone numbers and use flattery and threats to pressure you into giving them information, money, and even iTunes gift cards. Always verify the caller's identity before you provide any personal information. If you get an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be from Apple, hang up and contact us directly.

Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams

I googled the Apple customer service number instead of calling back the one that kept calling and the security department said that it is a scam and that Apple will never call you without you knowing in advance when they’re going to call you. He also said that if they do call you it’s because you have already been in touch with them concerning anything going on with your Apple products. It is never at random.
