Key Command to Get Vertical Ruler in Pages '09
Clicking Cmd-R gets a horizontal ruler. How do I get a vertical ruler?

You should see one on the left side of your document window.
If you mean rulers that you can drag guides out of, you need to have a floating text or image box selected first.
