Bose 700 Soundbar & Apple TV 4K

I just bought a brand new Bose 700 Soundbar. I also have an Apple TV 4K and a brand new LG tv with HDMI Arc.

My Apple TV remote worked to control volume for a few days and now no longer works. I have my Soundbar connected to the tv via HDMI Arc. My Apple TV is connected to the tv through HDMI. Shouldn’t that be enough? What am I missing as the remote doesn’t work anymore.

Is there a different set up I should use?

Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote - Apple Support

The Apple TV Remote can send a signal for changes in volume to your TV or soundbar, using its directional IR signal.

Verify: Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Control TVs and Receivers﹥.

Verify: Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Volume Control﹥.

Verify that HDMI-CEC is turned on on all devices.

If volume control doesn’t work automatically, you can manually program your Siri Remote.
