Is it no longer possible to use a credit card for Apple Pay? Is it now only for debit cards?

Apple Pay continues to allow authorized credit cards for payment.

"An eligible debit card in Wallet, so you can send money. Learn how to add a card."

But its not letting me. I’ve deleted the credit card and added it back on too. Still is asking for a debit card and not a credit card.
