homepod connection issues

Bought 2 home pods and everything was working great for awhile. Just recently I will walk in the room and say, "Hey Siri, play music." The HomePod responds, "I can't access your Apple Music account. Check the home app associated with this home pod." The problem is I must sign-in again and again and again. This is getting so old.


Any ideas what is wrong???

Just reset from scratch the HomePods. Make sure your iOS device is signed in with the Apple account and iCloud account you want to use. Make sure iTunes is activated (sync with iCloud, aka automatic downloads). Then install your HomePods. Your iOS device is "transferring settings", so if you are not logged in to the Apple iCloud account & iTunes account (much like you can view on an Apple TV screen), you will have this annoyance. Check you r credentials before 'transferring' your information to your HomePods.

Everything else is working perfect. I'm already logged in to my account via the HomeKit app. That is the app I must go to in order to sign-in again to make the music work. I have them setup up as right/left speakers and the stereo separation is good. The left HomePod is the active Siri.


The only issue is the loss of staying logged in so I can say, "Hey Siri play....."

my dominant one will do that from time to time. I never check if I got signed out, I just go to it and press the top to ask Siri something. That usually fixes it, after that I can go back to shouting out my requests


when this doesn’t work, a simple unplugging the HomePod and plugging right back in can resolve it.

I don’t bother with resets anymore. Unplugging fixes many issues, like music or timers etc.
