Apple ID compromised - do you get an email

Are you always advised if someone signs into your Apple ID from a different machine ( if your Apple ID has been compromised)

If it is a machine that your Apple ID has not been used with before (or not recently) then yes. If you think your Apple ID has been compromised see-->If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

Thank you Lawrence... I accidentally trusted someone (wife) with my details ( never again mind) and she passed them on so someone could get into my account. I changed my details within 15 minutes and assumed that if someone had have tried to get in then Apple would email me. I have now changed my details accordingly...
