Delete button won't work

Delete button won't work

I feel pretty stupid. I was cleaning my keyboard adn hit something and now my delte button won't work! How do I get it working again? Sorry for the trivail question.

Mac OS X (10.4)

Tough to tell what you nay have cleaned, (but it gives me hope that my slob ways of not cleaning KBs for 20+ years may turn out to be an advantage! 😉 ).

Check System Preferences>Mouse & KB, or Keyboard>KB Shortcuts to see what might be affecting it.

My Macbook's Delete (backspace) Key won't work either. Only if I hit shift at the same time. I thought it was a technical problem but now I know it works just fine but it must be something with the software or settings. Any Help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have a Laptop to try to see what the problem may be, but they certainly have turned KB recognition into a bloated mess... my Ataris recognize 100+keys & 40 iterations of the F keys in 100 Bytes or so!

Did you check Sys Prefs>Keyboard?Keyboard for conflicts?
