Downloading CD's to my computer

How can I change the destination file from the iTunes Library to one that I choose. When I download music from CD's, they automatically go to the iTunes Library rather than a location of my choosing. I have looked and can't seem to find a way to do this, though I am sure I have over looked something. As it is now, I download the CD, it goes to the iTunes Library, I copy it to the destiontion file of my choice, delete it from iTunes, delete it from the iTunes Library, then upload the CD again from the file of my choice in order to only have to maintain one Library source and destination. This works, but is cumbersome and I know there has to be an easier way to do this by telling iTunes where to send it too in the first place.

Given that iTunes doesn't give you an option for where the tracks that you rip or download go, and it doesn't really care where they are for it to work, why does it matter to you? I have a script called CustomRenamer which can let you choose where your files should live, but in general I'd urge you to at least stick to the basic \iTunes\iTunes Media\<Some path> format which makes the library easy to backup, restore, and move around when required.
