No.

iOS/iPad apps are, usually, scaled down apps.

MS Office apps for iOS and iPad may not have all of the features available on the full macOS version.

iPads are NOT laptop/MacBook replacements. They are companion mobile computing devices.

There is NO native mice/trackpad support and limited multitasking abilities.

Can't connect ANY external standard computer peripheral devices and drives, either.

Your statement is absolutely correct.

iOS is a more simplified OS than macOS is.

An iPad Pro has internal hardware equal or surpassing that of most other laptop computers, but because iPads run iOS, the full potential of that hardware is not fully realized.

Even the new iPad Pro’s USB-C connection is not a true USB-C connection as it is being limited in what can be connected to it!

Most apps, NOT ALL, are more simplified and the workflows for getting things done take more steps and workarounds than performing the same functions on a MacBook.

So, I state again, NO iPad is a complete replacement for ANY full featured computer. It CAN be for someone whose use case is more simple and modest, but for anyone needing the power and flexibility from an iPad that a laptop or desktop computer affords, that is simply lacking in ANY iPad and in iOS.
