This message is still showing up and the keyboard won’t function. I have applied the below steps and non of them worked:

Check if iPad is Updated.

Turn Off and On your iPad.

Smart Connector Clean & Connected.

Force Reset your iPad.

What could be the problem. The Smart Keyboard only worked for a month after.

After the iOS 16 update on my 2017 iPad, I keep getting "Accessory not supported" and my smart keyboard quit working. I've tried the rebooting thing and it will work until the iPad goes to sleep, then it quits working again. Why am I now getting "Accessory Not Supported" and Smart Keyboard stopped working after iOS 16 update? 9" ipad from 2017, and this is 2nd keyboard in 5 years that has done this to me. How can I get it fixed? The rebooting only gets it to work until iPad goes to sleep, then have to start all over again.

iPad Pro keyboard I continually get “this accessory is not supported” message when trying to use the keyboard accessory. It is a genuine apple keyboard. The operating system I am using is the latest iPad iOS 13. Equipment approx 3 years old. What can I do to resolve the issue without having to replace the keyboard?

Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar, take the keyboard and iPad with you.
