I had to change my Apple ID yesterday. Today when I started my computer I was directed to enter my Apple ID password to open iCloud. I did so with the new Apple ID password but all that is happening (for the last three hours or so) is the spinning circle. I can minimize that screen and still use my computer but I cannot open my iCloud preferences.

I did as you suggested before seeking help. I called Apple support and they suggested I unplug then plug in my modem to refresh it. That worked, so it was a problem with my internet connection/ modem. Thanks for thaking the time to rep,y.
