MacBook Pro 13' TouchBar Fans

The fans on my Mac don't seem to kick in. When charging my Mac it gets quite warm, not super hot, but relatively warm. The fans don't kick in, not sure if this is because my Mac isn't getting hot enough, or what. Any one else getting the same vibe?

Is this with the lid open or closed?

Nothing wrong with warm, this is normal.

For thermal management you are limited to resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

MacBook Pro has vents along the side and on the back. MacBook Air computers have vents along the back near the clutch.

The surface your device rests on can block its vents, flat surface like a table or desk is best for temperature control.

There are a few other Support articles concerning temperature and other somewhat related matters.

• Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201640

See how apps affect Mac performance, battery runtime, temperature, and fan activity - Apple Support

• About Mac notebook batteries - Apple Support

For troubleshooting, if this comes to that, you may learn how and use Safe mode, on startup. This works

for several things that may affect the usefulness of the Mac. And use Activity monitor to see functions.

The fans run continuously. They run faster only when internal temps rise above set points in the SMC. You might try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM and Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support.

Otherwise, make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).
