I know I can launch an app by searching in Spotlight. But how do I find where it is stored on my iPad (which folder) so I can move it or delete it. I have too many apps and folders to hunt manually

Just to add a tiny bit of clarity, the name of the folder will appear to the right side of the app name when you find the app in the spotlight search.
I searched for Keynote on my iPad and it is in a folder that I named iWorks Apps.

After the app appears in the search results, tap on the enter key on the onscreen keyboard.
The folder name should then show up on the right side of the results.
It doesn’t on mine in iOS 12. The Apps show up but when I click on the App it opens
That did it. I wasn’t hitting the Enter “Search” key. I was just seeing what popped up after entering the text on the sear line.

If you’ve named your folders, when you use Spotlight, it’ll give you the name of the folder the app is in.
