Trying to add someone to a group message using the iMessage, I can do it on my MacBook using the details option but, my boss can not - both of our MacBooks are fully updated to 10.14.4.
If the message is only to you, that is not a group message, thus you would not see the ability to add someone.
Are you saying that you boss cannot add someone to the same iMessage group, or is your boss trying to add someone to a group message that they are using? You can add to group iMessages, but cannot add to group MMS, which is a message that contains a mix of iOS and non-iOS devices.
we both have iPhones and MacBooks - she tried adding someone to a message that has me only on it as a test and was unable to.
