WiFi Questions
What should be my settings for WiFi if I am away from home. I have the iPhone 6S please advise

That would depend on what you are trying to do. If you wish to connect to another wi-fi network, you can select that network if you wish. If you do not wish to join a wi-fi network, and do not wish to see a popup of available networks, then the only change you would need to make is to turn Ask To Join Networks off.
