Two of my albums downloaded their songs twice each, and one is semi out of order

I preordered Marina's double album, Love + Fear. The album had some songs available before release. Tracks 1 and 4 were available at preorder, 2 came shortly after, then 3, then the rest of the first part of the double album (four more songs), then the last 8 at release. It's hard to remember exactly what the problem started with, because it changes slightly, but I think some of the earlier released songs download a second time with the release of the last 8, on my computer, then eventually, all the other songs were listed/downloaded twice on my computer. There was no problem on my synced iPod. I figured I'd just delete/hide the extras, and that seemed good enough for a while, but then I noticed random songs from the album were hidden on my iPod, not corresponding to ones I deleted. I tried redownloading them, and I got them back on with out duplicates, but now tracks are out of order; they are in three groups, the last 8 songs, songs 1 and 4, and the rest of the first 8, and those groups end up in different orders as I try redownloading them in different orders, but never 1-8 and 1-8 like it's supposed to be and was. I tried messing with itunes on my computer again, and now I have two of all 16 songs again on my computer, AND another album I preorder around the same time download every song twice two, and there was no issue with that before, and it didn't even try releasing some tracks early or anything; just a normal release.

This is so much, and really annoying. Help would be appreciated. andandand

Probably easiest to delete everything from these albums from your library, unhide any hidden purchases, then redownload fresh copies. See Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support and Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books from the App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple Books - Apple Support. If you still have issues with track order see Grouping tracks into albums, typically it will be caused by inconsistent use of disk number.

iTunes and various devices can handle disc 0 of 0 differently, going either before disc 1 or after disc X, so something that looks correct in iTunes can be out of sequence on a device, or vice versa. To be see exactly what is happening I would switch to the songs view in iTunes and enable all of the columns relevant to album sorting and grouping. I.e. track & disc numbers, artist, album, album artist, artist, name, sort artist, sort album, sort album artist, sort artist, sort name, and sort as album by artist from the heading of the album column. The discrepancy should show up. Once fixed in iTunes you may sometimes need to remove content from the device, then add it back, rather than simply sync.

Find the heading of the Album column. Click once to select and sort on it, then once or twice more if required so that it reads Album by Artist. Now review the track and disc numbers. All the tracks should be marked as Disc 1 of 1. Disc <blank> of <blank> would also work if applied consistently to the whole album. Checking online I see that the correct title of this album is The TryForce. The grey values in sort album are those that are generated automatically by ignoring the leading article. The bold values have been entered explicitly. I think it is neater when sort values are only bold if they are necessary to change the order, so I would delete the sort artist and sort album values from tracks 10 to 14.

FWIW this is another way you could delete duplicates in future. Use File > Library > Show Duplicate Items > Same Album and sort by Date Added. Select and delete the newest item from each pair of matching tracks, (use Ctrl-Click to select multiple items to delete), and then click Done.
