I am soon entering my exam periods, and they require that the documents one delivers ought to be fully anonymous to prevent cheating. Most people uses Word. I, as the only Mac-user, have no idea how to make my exam-document anonymous. Does anyone know?

What does the faculty that is to be the recipient of your exam paper expect, or has stated for the document format? If they explicitly stated Word, and no other format — sending them a .pages document, or .pdf could earn you a failing exam grade depending on their interpretation flexibility of course instructions.
Are most people using Word because the course stated to use Word? You really have no choice in the matter than submit an exported Word document from Pages, if Word was the stated medium.
If you do not export your Pages exam paper to Word, then you are expecting that the receiving faculty has the same version of Pages installed on a Mac, or has access to Pages for iCloud to view your document. I would advise against submitting your exam in other than Word .docx format.
In Pages v8 Preferences : General, there is an Author field. Although you hope that you can make it blank before leaving the preferences screen, Pages has stored that value in its preference list, and will re-insert it with the very next template that you choose. So I set my Author name to the word anonymous. Pages will remember this.
I just exported a Word .docx document from Pages v8 and upon dissecting every .xml file within that Word document, I found no reference to anonymous, or my surname.
The other item that is missing is the application name that created the Word document. LibreOffice Writer and MS Word always write this string into the Word document. Hope that no software is checking for the present of the application name that created the Word document.

I will have to convert it to Word before I send it in. Is there a way I can possibly avoid this?
I might add though, that if you track changes and add comments to your Pages document that when exported to a Word .docx, it introduces a comments.xml file into the Word contents that now has your author name embedded in it. When this is opened in Word, your author name will be displayed.
