Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse (Gen. 1) lagging and disconnecting
All,
I need serious help here. I own a 15" MBP (2018) and I'm having issue with my both my magic keyboard and magic mouse. These two devices are from my 2009 27" iMac (which no longer working).
The problem is they keep getting disconnected intermittently, by average every 20-30 mins. And within 5 seconds, they get connected back. Especially for my mouse, when this happens, the cursor will get so lagging to the point that I have to move the mouse from one end of the desk to the other end in order to get the cursor to move half the screen laterally. FYI, I'm using a 27" ext. monitor.
I'm in contact with a senior advisor but seems like this issue is still there. What I have done so far are below, but do not solve problem:
- Reset NVRAM
- Reset SMC
- Debug (reset) bluetooth module
- Remove the devices from BT list and add them back again
I also read a lot of comments about Magic Mouse 2 having bluetooth connection issue. This scared me as I thought of getting one earlier. Anyone out there facing similar issue?
The advisor currently inclined to believe it is hardware issue due to my old keyboard and mouse. I'm advised to keep monitoring their performance. Not only this, the advisor also mentioned it could be due to interference from my WiFi router signal. Is that even possible? I can connect my iPhone to my home theatre system via BT and play music on Spotify with no issue, why would it harm my Apple mouse?
I really love my MBP but extremely disappointed at the same time. Hope someone can help me out here....
Thanks.
Cheers,
KC
