iOS support for iPhone XR.

I purchased an iPhone XR recently and I'm surprised to see that : my weather app acts weird where I don't see the animations, the location icon in the status bar overlaps the time sometimes. As per some forums online, I changed my display to standard and it fixed the weather app but I prefer using the zoomed display and I want the iOS to work as per my convenience shouldn't I? . Is is this because Apple is still working on the iOS to support XR or is it's just a bug? Is is just with the weather app or is there something else as well? I did not full-explore the device yet but I'm afraid I'd find more bugs than this one. Apple- please fix this!

Well in that case, Apple has to do something about it right? Will you accept an $800 iPhone failing to provide every feature that it should?

What I can’t say for certain is that this an intended behavior but if so, then Apple is providing every feature that it should, if they designed it to work that way when in Zoom View.

What is the Zoomed view good for when it can not support those features? If not a Bug, then will apple consider this as their negligence for the perk they give you on the Zoomed view?

Sometimes, these features are give and take. You get the zoomed view, but not the subtle animation in the weather app. Maybe they can’t make it work both ways.

I think we may see things differently and that’s OK. I’m not trying to sell you on anything. I’m just explaining things as I see them. I will suggest however, that you provide feedback to Apple. Let them know how you feel about it.

My iPhone XS has no display zoom setting in display&brightness settings (iOS 12.3) so the only “zoom” I was aware of was in accessibility.

And even if it is is a bug in the iPhone XR, no, Apple doesn’t owe anyone anything. You use iOS at your discretion and it is provided as is just like every other software license on the planet - https://www.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/iOS12.pdf

”7.3 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND APPLE AND APPLE’S LICENSORS (COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS “APPLE” FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTIONS 7 AND 8) HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE iOS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND/OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS.”

That’s how accessibility - zoom works. When you tap with three fingers, the whole image on the display zooms to large. You then use three fingers to scroll around the zoomed display. It’s not just your iPhone XR, it’s every iPhone when the zoom accessibility feature is turned on and you’ve tapped the display with 3 fingers to zoom it.

There is is no way to zoom or magnify the image of the display and still have everything shown - you have to use 3 finger scroll to move around when zoomed.

Well that’s what I was asking and I think Michael’s response was relevant if you were using Zoom in the Accessibility settings.

I just set my XR to Zoom view like you have your phone set and I just think that’s the nature of using Zoom. The images are larger but some of the other features are sacrificed for the zoomed view. I saw no animation in the weather app in Zoom view either. What I mean is that it isn’t a bug.
