Removal of old payment method

The system won’t let me remove my old credit card and I don’t know the CVC code to it either

iPhone 6s, iOS 12

If you can't remove your last payment method or use no payment method with your Apple ID - Apple Support lists some reasons and a possible resolution for your problem.
