sim not supported
when i try to start up a iPhone my friend gave me as soon as i get to phone activation it keeps saying sim not supported how can i fix this?

The phone is SIM-locked to a carrier. You need to ask your friend what carrier he used it with, then contact them and ask their unlocking policy. Better yet, ask your friend to do it because some carriers will only unlock a phone for a current or past customer.
