My Apple Watch series 3 updated last night but it will not count my steps. How do I fix it?

I suggest you begin troubleshooting with a forced reset on your Apple Watch. Press and hold the Digital Crown and side button (together, about 10 seconds) until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons, let the watch reboot, and go do some walking to test.
