Migration Assistant

I just bought a new MacBook Air today and I’ve been trying to transfer everything from my old Air to this one. The problem isn’t that the new one won’t connect, it just says Checking “MacBook Air” with the gray spinning ring and will not go any further. I also can’t select “back” or “continue”, so what am I supposed to do? What is the problem here?
