miniStack MAX not recognized in Mojave
I have used a Newertech miniStack MAX for 5 years from macOS 10.9 through 10.13 without any problems. It has an internal 2TB hard drive and Matshita BD-MLT UJ265 Blu-ray burner.
In Mojave (10.14.5) the Blu-ray burner is not recognized by macOS. When I look under "Disc Burning" in the System Report, it says "No disc burning device was found. If the device is external, make sure it's connected and turned on".
The device is fine. The hard drive continues to work normally in Mojave. When I boot my system back into High Sierra (10.13.6) the drive shows up as normal in System Report and disc burning works normally in Toast and iTunes.
I have tried contacting Newertech but receive no response. I thought Apple handles the generic drivers for DVD and Blu-ray burners, so what could have broken between High Sierra and Mojave? I have looked all over the web and found no reference to updated firmware or drivers for the miniStack.
While I can boot back into High Sierra to burn discs, that is not really an ideal solution. I already tried creating a fresh user account and the drive does not show up in there either.
