My FaceTime says waiting for activation and then says can’t connect to FaceTime server.

FaceTime I was having issues with FaceTime, it wouldn’t connect at all. So I turned it off and back on again in settings. It said it is waiting for activation but it’s been over 24 hours and nothing has happened. I tried to check on it and it said it failed to connect to FaceTime server. I’m not sure what to do!
