My iPad and iPhone printing very blurry and unreadable. to HP wireless, new issue. prints fine uding HP app diwnloaded from app store

My iPhone and iPad used to print perfectly to my HP wireless printer. After about two or three updates ago the print is illegible and blurry when I try and print something. I had to download an HP printer app and this prints clearly. How do I fix this issue so that the default Apple printer option works again and prints clearly?
