Printing in landscape orientation on iOS
I’ve found that even if a webpage or PDF is shown in landscape mode, Safari tries to print in Portrait orientation and there is no way to adjust this in the printer options.

Typically, it's dependent on the printer firmware, not the iPad. If the printer you use permits choosing landscape when you choose the Airprint printer, a dialog box should pop up providing that option. If you're not getting that option, it's time to reach out to the printer manufacturer for guidance.

And if that doesn’t work, your printer may have an app of their own that can help you, or there are third party printing apps that may offer more options than AIr Print
Ok, not sure how you’d download printer drivers or firmware to iOS, but I’ll see what they say.
You DON'T download printer drivers to iOS. You download printer drivers to your printer, via your home computer.
