Mail client keeps opening up on its own

My mail app keeps opening up periodically. If I'm watching a video in full screen, it'll split the screen as it opens. Happens when not in a full screen app. Has this issue been described before and is there a fix?

MacBook, macOS 10.14

Thanks, I don't readily see a cause, but by inference suspect these 2 Apps...

Since they profess to "control" internet connections.


Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?


To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...


Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.


Does it work in the new account?

It can, but doesn't have to. It often happens when I'm watching a youtube video fullscreen from browser (sllits the screen), but also happens when I’m full screen using OneNote app. If I’m not in fullscreen using OneNote or different app/browser then the Mail app window will pop up. The only way to avoid this is by quitting out of Mail completely or minimizing the app which I always forget to do.


I’ve heard from several people that have this issue as well.

Are you familiar with either Examsoft/Examplify or Sonosim the BDAqua might suspect as causing the problem? It'd be interesting to see if we could narrow it down between our identical problems.


@BDAqua Ill have to report back possibly later today after I get some studying done to see if the problem persists through any of those. Thanks for trying to help!
