recently added contacts are gone

How are you managing your contacts, via iCloud, or other cloud service? Do you handle contacts via an email account? Do you have all contacts still synced to the device? If you are seeing "Maybe" it is generally because the number is close to something you may have had in an email or message still on the device but no contact actually exists. Make sure that you have Contacts configured in Settings to display all contacts, or when you have the Contacts app open, check in the upper left corner and tap to ensure you have All Contacts or All Groups selected. Then check your Contacts Setting to determine what your default contact list is, so you are aware of where contacts you save are going.
