I recently (2 days ago!) changed carriers for my iPhone. I am NOT getting Notifications that I have Voicemail, even though I have it!! I know I have it because I can hold down the keypad number 1 and get into voicemail and listen too messages.

IF you're accessing your voicemail that way by holding the number 1, that means you're not provision by your new phone carrier to use visual voicemail on your phone.
Contact your phone carrier and have them resolve the issue.

The reply from razmee209 was right on spot!! My new carrier had not turned on visual voicemail...so they did! and it worked just fine!!
