Firefox 67: How Can I Delete Multiple Bookmarks?

I have tried using the various instructions available via Mozilla support without success. . .

The only bookmarks I use in Firefox are "Favorites" that I imported from Safari. They reside in the Firefox toolbar. (All other bookmarks are managed using BookMacster, accessible by all web browsers.)

Safari makes it easy to remove bookmarks; Firefox is a nightmare! I only want to use Firefox for the better privacy add-ons it has available. . .

Are there any Firefox Power Users who can help me with what should be a very simple operation?

Click on the Show Sidebars button on the right-side toolbar of FF67. A panel will open on the left of the browser, where you can select Bookmarks menu.

Right-click on a bookmark item, and then press Esc to cancel the secondary menu. The bookmark remains highlighted. Press the shift key and use the down arrow to select n-tuple adjacent bookmarks. Right-click on any part of the selection, and choose Delete from the menu.

You cannot choose n-tuple, non-contiguous bookmarks as far as I can tell.

If you bring up the bookmark manager (shift-cmd B) you should be able to do normal shift-select or cmd-select to select multiple bookmarks and then right-click and choose delete. Firefox is does not make it hard to delete multiple bookmarks.

If that doesn't work, is the problem that you are using BookMaster? is it recreating the bookmarks after you delete them?

I've tried everything there is to try when it comes to Mozilla tech support. . . From what I have read I'm not the only one who hasn't found an answer there for this particular problem.

At any rate, I resolved my issue. . . I simply deleted Firefox and all of its support files, getting rid of its pesky bookmarks data buried somewhere in a library folder. Then I reinstalled Firefox and imported the bookmarks from Safari. It's a limited number of bookmarks that I keep as favorites, so it was relatively quick and easy to accomplish. I use a separate bookmark manager for the bulk of my URLs.

Terry, nothing I tried worked for me so I simply trashed Firefox, reinstalled it and then reimported the bookmarks from Safari. I was only interested in a relatively small number of bookmarks that are "Favorites" that I keep readily accessible via the browser's toolbar.

My problem was not related to Bookmacster. It wasn't recreating the bookmarks; it has a separate data file from Firefox. Bookmacster is where I store all of my bookmarks because then they are available from any web browser I use. I switched to third-party bookmark managers some 20 years ago when a typical browser could not handle more than 200 URLs. For a long time I used URLM Pro but when its developer stopped support the app I made the move to Bookmacster. As of this writing I currently store over 13,000 URLs using the app.
