Can't update my software

I have been looking at some new apps recently that my friends have recommended to me. There were a couple cool looking ones that I decided to install. However, when I tried to install them, a notice comes up saying that this app needs software 11.0 or later. I clicked "ok" and went to Software in settings. I wanted to update, but my phone tells me that my software is up to date at 10.3.3. What can I do to update my software?

iPhone 5, iOS 10

As said, your iPhone's software cannot be updated any further.

You may be able to get compatible versions of the Apps for your device if such versions exist by following the steps here:

Downloading Older iOS Versions of Apps - Apple Community

Do note, that not all apps may still have compatible versions.

Considering the iPhone 5 is 7 years old at this point, maybe an upgrade is in order.
