Sneaky Apple Auto Charges

Anyone else been ripped off by auto charges for apple apps you don't use or intentionally sign up for, like Apple Music? I don't even remember signing up for the "free trial" and I was never told it expired, and I would start being charged. I never used it either! I'm so sick of companies like Apple and Adobe doing this. When I did see the charge I thought it was for an album I'd downloaded, or my Quickbooks App or something. Now they're saying they can't refund me for prior charges because too much time has gone by. Apple, you're disappointing me. As if it isn't enough with all the updates that mess up my storage and music and change the interface, how you collect mass metadata and personal info on your customers and sell it, or make your iPhones out of date and batteries start to deteriorate after 2 years and make them ridiculously expensive. Do you really need to peel more money off me?! This isn't right!

After signup, you would have received, on the same day, a subscription confirmation email and a welcome email, at your Apple ID email address. The confirmation email would detail a.o. the duration of the trial (3 months in many regions), trial price ($0 in many regions), regular price after the trial, and what would happen at the end of the trial (auto-renew each month unless you cancel).

This is very mainstream across most platforms offering a service, you need to know what you're signing up for.

Gym, Netflix, Apple Music, App subscriptions, ect

They often offer a free trial with the next month automatically being debited out of your account unless you cancel before the end of the billing cycle.

Be mindful of what you subscribe to. Check what subscriptions you're on and cancel any you no longer wish to be apart of. Check out the steps here: https://https://www.apple.com/au/privacy

Lastly, one of the few companies out there that does not sell your information or share it, is Apple. If they did, it would be a breach of their own privacy policy. > https://www.apple.com/au/privacy
