No. Apple Store Gift cards can only be used to buy physical items from the Apple Store, or online store.
They cannot be used in iTunes of App Stores, and cannot be used to buy iTunes gift cards either.
I wasn't asking a question (you are not the first to be confused by that), it is the title of the link. THe link has the information you need.
No, you cannot transfer them. Apple does not say why. Presumably the accounting is done independently between the hardware and media sales divisions.

No, unfortunately there is no way to transfer the balance to iTunes.
You can sell the gift card, and then use the money to buy an iTunes gift card however.
That is absolutely absurd. My options are to buy a cheap cover at 39 $ for my iPad and give up the 10$ or buy the 50$ charger that is wayyyyy over priced..... great! This makes me dislike apple products/services even more
Why would you give up $10?
You can use the card to buy whatever you want, and if the item is cheaper than the balance, you can use the remainder of that balance on something else at a different time.
The Apple Store Gift cards can be used multiple times until they no longer have any balance to be used.
I'd give up the $10 because there will never be anything on the apple store for $10.
I understand the use of gift cards, I just have no use for an Apple Store Gift card!
It was my dumb mistake of getting the card, i was just hoping to transfer its balance to something I could actually use

But you can still use the $10 to buy something more expensive, the gift card will just take off $10 from the price of the item, and you pay the rest with cash, or a credit card or something else.
There's no requirement that what you are buying has to be exactly the amount available on the card or less. You can combine the card with other payment methods.
Folks,
I understand how these cards work and how to use them and how to spend/save the money on them. My point is, I inadvertently signed up for the wrong card and am frustrated I cannot transfer the balance to iTunes. I have no need for anything in the apple store, nor do I anticipate a need for any items in the store. I do however purchase items in iTunes often and would like that money transferred so I can purchase something.
Apple Store Gift Card

No, you don’t give up the unused portion. The balance remains, and you can use it as part payment if you want to buy something more expensive.
Then sell the card to someone who can use it, and use the money from the sale to buy an iTunes Gift card.
@Phil0124, would you care to purchase
Nope, thank you. Don't need an Apple Store Gift Card.
