Apple ID been used

Hello,

I have been receiving emails, regarding my Apple account. These emails are notifications of games purchases made using my Apple ID which by people from different places and countries. I don't play games. None of my family have used it either. We all have used Android devices for the last 5 years. I certainly have not been using Apple devices for a long time, though I still have my Apple ID. I still use my old iMac (the first generation), from time to time, only whenever I need to print something from my emails. Plus, I no longer save any valid credit card in my Apple ID account for the last 5 or 6 years. So, I was wondering how these people were able to purchase anything using my Apple ID account. Feeling annoyed, I even changed my Apple ID password twice, hoping I could stop these emails and purchases made using my Apple account would stop. But those emails are keep coming. The last email I have received was 2 days ago. So it is still going on. Can anyone help me understand what is actually going on with my Apple Account. If it's been hacked, what do I have to do now? I have changed my Apple ID password twice. Thses purchases wouldn't stop. Thanks in advance.

You are sure they are genuine emails from Apple and not phishing attempts trying to get your account and payment details ?

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address.  The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information such as Social Security numbers.


The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store (apple.com), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.

Identifying legitimate emails from the iTunes Store


Send the e-mail to Apple as an attachment to a new e-mail before deleting it. You can forward as an attachment by going to Mail/Message/Forward as attachment. You won’t receive a response.

Well, those emails are in Indonesian language (I live in Indonesia). They're seem to be sent or meant to look to be sent from Apple Indonesia system. But most came with sender email addresses such as : noreply@apple.com, or sometimes no-reply@apple.com and also payment@apple.com.


They began with "Pelanggan yang terhormat" or would be Dear Customer (in English). But sometimes without a greeting and straight to the point... like your purchased on May 21 is complete.. (in English). I'll show you how it looks like below


(The 'spam' title is because I put them in my spam folder).


So, yeah... I guess I have to just continue ignore them.

I am not sure they are all genuine emails from Apple. But I did check my Apple account, and there was no records of purchases in history. So I assumed they're not genuine. I did open the attachment, they are some kind of proof of purchases, like a receipts. But they did not tell me to open a link or anything. Even when I went to my account to check, I opened and sign in to my account through Google, not from any link in my emails, if there's any.


So, assuming they are some kind of phishing attempts, how do I stop them? I have put them all in my Scam email list up till now, but almost every two or three days there's new email such those coming in. Just so annoying is all. Thanks for helping..

Have you checked the emails e.g. their 'from' address (though that can be spoofed), spelling or grammar errors, how they are addressed (e.g. 'dear customer', 'hello' etc.). But if they have attachments they are not from iTunes.


You could forward them to Apple, but if that email address is on a scammer's list you are likely to continue to receive them.

Hello Eco-Kateables,


Thanks for helping. So, I did as you suggested me to do. Log in to reportaproblem.apple.com, and I don't see any purchases for the last 90 days. The page is blank. As I have said in my earlier email, that I don't even have a valid credit card registered in my Apple account since 5 years ago.


So, I guess I will have to continue to just ignore these emails? I can't report them to getsupport.apple.com either, can I? Just so weird and annoying, really :(

Thanks for helping. Yes, by now I am sure these emails are phishing attempts. What I am trying to find out is how to stop these emails from keep coming in every other day.


I will do as you suggested to forward it to reportphishing@apple.com
