Add number to same titled photos in Photos ap?

Q1 - How do I do this? Surely there has to be a way that isn’t doing it all manually?

Recently purchased new MacBook Pro and doing clean transfer, which is great as deleting dupes, etc.

If I change name before I put on external drive to transfer onto new Mac in Photos it stubbornly retains old name, so I have to go through and label each one individually.

did work out how to batch change name but no number or extension to keep in some order.....I thought Apple was good with this. What am I doing wrong.

I have over 100,000 photos and am disabled,

need quickest possible way to do this. Rename then so in order.

Q2 - Can I default preferences for every folder in Photos so all folders will automatically be sorted by date. I have date at beginning of title every photo yr-mt-day (then short description).

I am going crazy.
