I've had this problem before and an Apple tech told me how to get rid of it. I seem to recall deleting a .plist but I couldn't find any pair where I wrote the instructions down. Can anybody help get rid of this? I tried Malwarebytes but Neve got it to scan for malware.

Please describe how to duplicate what you're doing, because there is no such menu option on any Safari version that I know of.

If you don't get anywhere, you can use the following procedure to determine if the problem is internal or external to your Mac. Causes may involve your router, your ISP, the DNS Server(s) it uses, or certain user-configurable options.
Determine if the problem persists while using Safari in that mode. After that, restart your Mac normally, and reply with your observations.
The virus is not "in the favorites list". It eliminates any sign of the favorites list and takes its place. I've found several websites that give ideas about how to get rid of it but most of them are talking about windows. The name theses vermin are using is "Quick Email Access".

I encounter it whenever I am in Safari and I click on bookmarks>show favorites. Instead of favorites, I get the "search.quick email access". I believe the last time this happened deleted one or two .plist files.
If a website is appearing in Favorites that you wish to remove, following these instructions excerpted from See your favorite websites in Safari on Mac will remove it:
Remove a favorite website: Drag the favorite website away from the Favorites page or Favorites bar, then let it go when you see the Remove icon. You can also Control-click the Favorite, then choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
