can I upgrade a version 5.1.1 ipad to 9.0 or more

It you have iPad 1st generation, no you can't. If you have iPad 2nd generation, yes you can. Do you know which model iPad you own?
Go to Settings > General > About > Model.
Post back and we can tell you which model you own.
