Updating Numbers

I have Numbers 3.6.2 and it suddenly says I have to update to a newer version.

1) Can I go straight to 6.2?

2) When I hit update 4+ at the Numbers page at the App Store, it seems to endlessly download, but nothing appears.

Any help appreciated...
