Import a Numbers table into Pages?

Seems like this would be a straightforward process of drag-and-drop, or add, import, insert, etc. But these two Apple programs are not integrated or recognize each other's assets???

I do not want to recreate the table within Pages. Why do it twice? That's why we use computers... save time.

I don't want to add a screen shot of the table as the graphics are lousy, and non-editable.

So, what am I missing in 2019?

Thanks.

Pages version 6.3.1

High Sierra

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13

Select the table in Numbers. Copy.

Click on a page in Pages. Paste.

Here is a pair of Numbers tables, pasted into a Pages document.

After pasting, I changed the value in D2 of the Data table from 1000 to 2000. Not that the SUMIFS formula in B2 of the Summary table has updated the total salary cost of the Security department and Location A.

Example is in Numbers 3.6.2 and Pages 5.6.2. The process should be the same in more current versions.

Barry
