How do I avoid an audio overdub (via live mic) always being slightly

How do I correct the delay/latency effect that occurs when I overdub an audio (live mic) track onto an original? As I am recording the overdub, all seems fine, but in playback the overdubbed part is always slightly "behind" the original. Help! Thanks.

Two things...

  1. Go to Logic's Preferences/Audio you will be on the default "Devices" Make sure Recording Delay is set to 0 (zero) sample, the middle position.
  2. Depending on the plugins being used, enable Logic's Low Latency Mode only while recording.
