I just got a new phone and I still have my old one and when I try to unlock it it says connect to itunes. My question is how do I unlock it to where I can still use it and have all of my files and information?

If you see the connect to iTunes screen, try this first.
If you see the Connect to iTunes screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Sounds like your used device is still locked with the last users Apple ID and password.
Without the ID and password you can't open the device.
