iMessage activation not connecting

This morning I haven’t been able to iMessage or FaceTime due to the fact it’s saying my iMessage is awaiting activation same for FaceTime when it give me the option to login it says there’s a problem connecting with iMessage server. Suggestions?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12

I’m also having the same problem. I did try the tips I’ve read on forums but I couldn’t get it to activate. Could it be a bug on the new ios?
